Mesut Ozil has only a few months remaining on his current contract at the Emirates stadium and there has been no development on the contract renewal.

The gunners have been trying to convince Mesut Ozil to extend his contract at the Emirates stadium but both the parties have not announced anything on if they have already begun negotiations or not but Arsenal fans are curious whether he will stay.

There has been a report this morning saying that Atletico Madrid will be making a move for the German international according to the THE SUN who say that Mesut Ozil has been offered a stunning £200,000 a week wages but there isn’t any clear indication that shows that the player will accept the offer because he was demanding £300,000 a week wages from the gunners which they have totally failed to meet and not ready to accept.

Arsenal have a lot of players whose contracts will be running out at the end of this season and Arsene Wenger has not been giving updates whether they will extend contracts of these players before the season ends. It is said that Atletico Madrid would wish to acquire the services of the 29 year old so the gunners will be expecting a bid from the Spanish giants, this comes after it was reported that the gunners are currently in advanced negotiations with Lyon star Nabil Fekir who might be the player that will replace Mesut Ozil.

Mesut Ozil has been an important player at the Emirates stadium ever since joining the North London club as he has helped the gunners win three FA Cup trophies which has proved that he was a well needed and important signing but the problem is that he has refused to put pen to paper to a new contract even though he is being urged by most Arsenal supporters have been begging the player to stay with them for some more years.

There was some reports a week ago which revealed that the German international wanted the no. 10 shirt which is currently worn by Jack Wilshere but the midfielder denied all those rumours but gunners will be waiting to hear his response to reports linking him to Atletico Madrid .
